3月3日 Acer buys E-Ten for $290 Million
Acer announced today that they have acquired the Pocket PC phone manufacturer, E-Ten. According to a post made by engadgatemobile, the deal cost Acer $290 Million. I can not personally confirm this as it is not in the official press release from Acer. Here is a quote from the press release: "Under the terms of the agreement, Acer Inc. will offer a share exchange with ratio of 1: 1.07 for all the outstanding shares of E-TEN, which represents total equity value consideration of approximately NT$9 billion. The new issued shares will represent approximately 6% of total Acer outstanding shares. The acquisition has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both E-TEN and Acer and is subject to standard closing conditions, including obtaining approval from Shareholders Meetings and the Governmental Regulators. Then again, Acer has made some decent stuff as well. So hopefully the strength of the the two will produce products of a high caliber.
